Chiawana High School Sophomore Wins 2nd Place in BFT Art Contest

The Pasco School District is delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Soleil, a talented sophomore at Chiawana High School, who secured 2nd place in the prestigious Ben Franklin Transit Student Art Contest's Digital Art category.

Soleil's winning masterpiece, a testament to her artistic brilliance, now takes center stage both on the exterior and interior of a Ben Franklin Transit (BFT) bus, captivating the entire community with its creativity. The unveiling of Soleil's artwork occurred in a special presentation outside Chiawana High School, where school administrators and her family had the opportunity to witness the artwork firsthand.

This recent triumph is just one among Soleil's many artistic accolades. She has also been selected as the winner for the 2023-24 Pasco School District Calendar cover art, further solidifying her reputation as a rising star in the artistic community.

Soleil's ability to capture the essence of creativity and innovation resonates not only within the school community but also on the broader canvas of Ben Franklin Transit. Her artwork, now a moving exhibit on the community's buses, contributes to the vibrant cultural landscape of Pasco.

Congratulations to Soleil for her well-deserved recognition and for bringing artistic brilliance to the forefront of our school community.

Note: The Ben Franklin Transit Student Art Contest received nearly 200 entries across its Traditional Art and Digital Art categories, with the top three pieces from each category featured on the buses.
